Murder In Art was formed from the band Clayforge.  The Members of Clayforge changed the bands name after signing a record deal with Mastervox Records in 1998.

Juha left Clayforge, not joining Murder in Art, but Pasi and Markus continued on releasing one full length album, Scars in 1999.

Some of the songs released on Calyforge's demo, Kult Release, were included on this album.
