New Moon - Way Too Loud

Keeping a constant flow throughout a doom/death album is difficult, likely because most bands prefer to take their time. The depressing melodies over buzzing riffs, steady pulsing drums keeps the effort soldering on. There’s one slight element that sneaks its way into the album, which happens to be black metal. From the interplay of the riffs and keyboards, the high raspy vocals (which split time between low growly and a bit of clean singing from both male and female voices), the tiny little hints from some of the simpler guitar action, and even a moment of blasting give “New Moon” that something extra.

The subtle black metal action throughout “New Moon” and the continuous flow of energy and busy action keep the album much livelier than most doom/death albums.
